„We want to build a company Deutsche Bank is afraid of“ - Maximilian Tayenthal

Today we had the pleasure to welcome Jörg Rheinboldt (CEO of Axel Springer Plug & Play), Maximilian Tayenthal (CFO of N26), Arne Zeising

(Co-Founder of LIQID) and moderator Carsten Maybach (Main Incubator) at IdeaLabs!

Fintech Panel.

The two founders and investor shared their thoughts on digitalization and how fintechs are going to disrupt the „traditional“ banking industry and simplify our daily life.

„What keeps us awake at night is definitely not the competition“  - Maximilian Tayenthal

N26 seems to be quite confident regarding it’s competitors. With lower fixed costs, including no branches and the lowest customer acquisition cost in the whole market they save tons of money which they can invest in improving their product.

„It might happen that we don’t even know we are using blockchain technology“ - Arne Zeising

LIQID’s Co-Founder & Head of Engineering Arne Zeising added that bitcoins and in general blockchain technology will become a fundamental part of banking at it’s core.

We won’t necessarily be using Bitcoins as a currency but many products are going to be build on top of it, for example we might transfer money from one country to another which will all be handled by blockchain technology soon.

The panel ended with an open Q&A with many people asking the three speakers interesting questions. The panel clearly was a huge success.
