“Ignore Common sense, get rid of all excuses in your head.” - Saygin Yalcin
The founder and CEO of sellanycar.com, the biggest car trader in the middle east, talked in his IdeaLab! speech about his company and the ingredients it needs to start and run a new business. One of his key messages was that many people have ideas but only a very few take the risk and find something.
For himself he says that he was “…just like, to start something!” adding “All I could lose was probably a bit of time.” Though there are many threads and problems you should take into account. You have to ask yourself: “Are you passionate with your business?” On this point it is about to “Ignore Common sense” and “get rid of all excuses in your head.”
His speech also carried the value of making a personal impact.
Everyone should think about what they want to achieve and then what they want afterwards. “Leave in impact in the world, this don´t have to be huge, but it is the ultimate purpose of life.”, this corresponds also to money he said. Though “Money is important”, you reach a point where your wish is not anymore about money if you ask yourself the “Then-What” question over and over. With these words Saygin Yalcin left the auditorium and ended his speech. We are very thankful to have once again such a great speaker and WHU-Alumni.
